Alternative Sources of Support

We offer an easy referral process for those wishing to talk

At Insight we understand that it quite often takes courage to make that first step towards speaking with a counsellor.

Insight is a brief, intervention service. Currently we are able to offer each client a block of 8 weekly appointments.

From receiving your referral, we aim to offer your initial appointment within 16 weeks. However, the waiting list is variable due to a variety of circumstances, for example, your availability to attend appointments.

After the initial appointment clients have a further wait to be allocated to their counsellor.

The overall wait from referral to start of sessions can be up to six months and, in some instances, may exceed this length of time.

The five minute referral form

  1. Get familiar with our process and what is required for referral.
  2. Enter your personal details in the first section. Don’t worry, this is kept strictly confidential and won’t be shared with anyone other than your assigned counsellor.
  3. Select your preferred location and share your availability and best times for us to get in touch with you.
  4. Let us know if you would prefer to talk to us by video call or over the telephone.
  5. Tell us as much as you’re comfortable to share about why you would like to speak to a counsellor. There is no wrong answer here and any information you can share will help us identify the best counsellor for you.
  6. Submit the referral form online. We will get in touch should we need more information.

We all have questions so here are some common ones
Where will my appointment be?
Do I need to bring anyone else with me to this appointment?
Will I be expected to take time off work to attend?
What will the Counsellor ask me?
Will I see the same counsellor at future appointments?
When will I see a counsellor again?
Will I need to pay for my appointment?
What training/qualifications will my counsellor have?
Will you need to tell anyone about my attendance at Counselling?
Do you keep records and can I have access to them if I wish?
What if I’m unhappy with the service I receive?
Can I bring my children with me?
I have a question which isn’t answered here
